It's time for some Disney Magic: A Full Breakdown of Disney Lorcana at Vault Games

Disney Lorcana is finally coming to Australian shores and in the eight weeks leading up to its Set-5-Release in August, Vault Games is running a series of events focusing on sets 1 through 4 where you can learn the game and get cards into your collection all while enjoying a friendly, casual atmosphere.

Below you'll find a full breakdown of the different events we are running, when those events are, links to tickets to book your spot, and some answers to some questions you may have.

The Formats of Vault Games' Disney Lorcana Events

Starter Set Learn-To-Play – At this event, you receive one of the two-colour starter decks available from that set (chosen when you book the event). You then sits down with other attendees to learn and play some Disney Lorcana in a two-hour, semi-structured setting with a Vault Games team member on hand to show you how to play, as well as answer any questions you have during the event. You are free to find your opponents from the other attendees, or play among yourselves with your group of friends that are also attending the event. At the end, you'll get an additional booster from the set you are playing in.

Draft – At this event, you'll draft four boosters to create a 48-card pool, then you'll build a minimum 40-card deck, ignoring the restriction of colours and number of copies usually found in the regular constructed format (meaning you can use any number of colours and any number of copies of the same card). Drafting starts by passing left for the first pack, then right for the second, then left, and then right. Once you've built your deck, you'll play three rounds of Best-of-Three matches. Each round, including the draft and deck construction, is 50-minutes long and at the end of the event, you'll get another three boosters to add to your collection.

Sealed – At this event, you'll open six boosters then build a minimum 40-card deck, ignoring the restriction of colours and number of copies usually found in the regular constructed format (meaning you can use any number of colours and any number of copies of the same card). You'll then play three rounds of Best-of-Three matches. Each round, including the deck construction, is 50-minutes long and at the end of the event, you'll get another three boosters to add to your collection.

Questions you may have about Disney Lorcana or the Events

Will there be Disney Lorcana stock for sale?

At the moment, all product we are recieving has been allocated towards the above events. Once a set has finished its two-week run, we will count our remaining stock and make a decision on whether its better to sell it or hold it for future events.

Can I bring my own deck to the Learn-To-Play?

You can but we'd ask that you don't disturb the event attendees or the team member while they are demonstrating and that everyone who is attending the event has the chance at a game of Disney Lorcana. There's a lot of events happening at Vault Games over the next few months so table priority will go to paid event attendees first.

Can I try out the game before the events?

Will you stock singles on TCG Singles: Powered by Vault Games?

At the moment, we don't really have plans to buy and sell singles as our main goal is to get cards into your hands to start playing. As we get closer to the release of Set 5, and as the play scene develops in our region, we may start moving into singles for Disney Lorcana, but at the moment, we don't plan to.

Is Disney Lorcana any good?

Actually yes. The game feels very similar to Keyforge with players working towards their own goal while hindering the opponent's. Now that Ursula's Return is about to release, interesting synergies have developed to make some interesting deck builds utilising cards across all four sets. It's really easy to understand the rules and get rolling with the game.

What are the plans for future Disney Lorcana events at Vault Games?

There are plans. We're just waiting to finalise all of the league organised play from the suppliers and will have more information in August as we get closer to the Set 5 release. To stay up to date, make sure you join the Disney Lorcana @ Vault Games Facebook Group.
