Vault Games is Expanding! So here's the lowdown on Vault Clayfield so far...

Well, well, well… this was inevitable wasn’t it. You have asked us for more Vault, and now we’re finally in a position to create it for you. What am I talking about? Jump over to the Facebook page to see that new video then come back here to continue reading ;)

That’s right… VAULT IS EXPANDING. May I introduce you to Vault Games Clayfield, the first of what we hope will be many new spaces where you’ll find everything you need to game! Our goal, since our first store has always been to create a space where you can hobby your day away in a safe, accessible, and welcoming community.

So, let’s answer a few questions I’m sure you have…

Where is it?

We’re not ready to have you go sticking your nose around while our crew are hard at work taming and securing the new entity. So to keep everyone safe, we’ll announce the actual address in a few weeks. In the meantime, make sure you like the new Vault Games Clayfield Facebook Page to keep up to date!

When are you opening?

Soon. There’s a lot of moving parts to this process so a concrete date isn’t really available just yet and we don’t want to miss a promised date due to something we couldn’t have predicted (like a fire hydrant cover through our front glass door… thanks Brisbane). Like I said above, make sure you like the new Vault Games Clayfield Facebook Page to keep up to date!

What events will you be running?

Whatever we are currently running at the Brisbane store, is likely to be running at the new store. Obviously, communities may be different so there may be circumstances where games are supported at a different level at each store due to the community present at that store (for instance, we’ve always had a problem creating a Star Wars: X-Wing community in the Brisbane store, but if there is a sustainable community growing at Clayfield, we may end up supporting the game there instead!)

I want to play games EVERY DAY! Will I have to choose between the stores?

For the most part, no. Our regular events will be run on a schedule so that they don’t interfere with each other, meaning you can play Commander at both Brisbane AND Clayfield in a single week. The only thing that will clash are Product/Set Launches, Prereleases, and Friday Night Magic, which will be a draft as well.

The full weekly schedule is still being worked out, so make sure you like the Vault Games Clayfield Facebook page for that schedule once it’s ready.

Will my Mythic Draft, Mythic Commander, Vault Dweller, Painter’s Program, or Board Game Library membership work in the new store?

To most of those… no. To two of those, yes. Let’s run through it…

For the Mythic Draft, Mythic Commander, and the Vault Dweller subscriptions, you will need to sign up as a store-specific member due to the processes we have running behind the scenes to deliver these programs. They may not be available immediately upon opening (we’ll do our best to make them available though) and, if you are already a member, we’ll be investigating how we can transfer your membership to the new store once it becomes available. 

Because the Board Game library is run entirely through a single system, you’ll be able to hire games from either store using the same membership. Though you MUST return your games to the store you hired them from. We don’t want to see 5 copies of Azul sitting at Brisbane City.

And finally, the Painter’s Program will be available at both Vault Games stores, provided you can show proof of membership with your wallet pass. If you have signed up for the Painter’s Program, you should have an email with a pass already available, otherwise shoot us an email through the contact page and we can ensure a wallet pass gets to you.

Will I be able to pick up my orders from Clayfield?

The short answer? Yes! When checking out, you will be able to select “Vault Games Clayfield” as a pickup location for your order BUT, there may be a few days delay if it was in stock at the other store but not Clayfield so that we can transfer it across. There’s a bit of a difference with TCG Singles though…

Will I be able to pick up my TCG Singles: powered by Vault Games orders from Clayfield too?

Yes, but there will be a 48 - 72 hour wait for your order to arrive at the Clayfield Store as it will need to be transferred from the Brisbane City store. Due to the complexities of the TCG Singles system, the entire inventory will be remaining at the Brisbane City store, and this is where Trent & Piper will be handling the secondhand trading card-side of the business from. 

Though, Trent and Piper will be available once a month at a special Buy & Trade event where you can bring in your cards to have them assessed and, if we want them, we’ll buy them and add them to the inventory right then and there!

Alternatively, you can always enter a buylist online and drop them into the Clayfield store to have them transferred for checking and processing, it’ll just take a little longer.

Wait… does that mean more product allocations?

Yes. Preorder allocations are usually based on a store’s sales and community size. So by having another store, we’re able to get our hands on more stock to cover preorders and events.

Will there be familiar faces there?

Our longest-serving team member, Josh, will be heading up the new location, and Cassie and myself (Dylan) will still make regular appearances (especially over the busy Christmas period) to ensure you still get that great vault service and community.

You’re in luck - we’re on the hunt for new team members! Head on over to the Work@Vault page on the website to apply. We have a Christmas casual position open to help at the Brisbane store, and a few casual positions open at the new Clayfield location. 

We’ll go through the usual hiring process to make sure you’ll fit right in at Vault. Remember though, this is the only way to apply. We can’t keep resumes at the store due to privacy requirements.

How do I stay up to date?

We’ve already spun up a Facebook and Instagram page for the new location, you can subscribe to our email list to get the info direct to your inbox, and,  if you’re a member of the Discord Server (https://discord.gg/vaultgames in case you haven’t joined yet) a new #clayfield-store-updates channel will already be live, and we’ll be working with our resident Discord ninja PeeJay on how we can set up a system so that you can select which store you’d like to get notifications from.
