Flip7

3 - 99 Players
20 minutes

A fast paced test your luck game for those with a gambler’s heart (or who are simply good at card counting!) The aim of the game is to flip cards, avoiding flipping double of the same card. The tension lies in the goal - the first to 200 points wins. Cards are numbered 0 - 12, with copies of higher numbers having more duplicates. Players must gamble between scoring the highest they can in a round without striking out. With the addition of rare bonus cards, and ability cards (which let you freeze an opponent out of the round, flip 3 extra cards, or gain the drawer a second draw - essentially saving them from busting out of a round) the odds feel reliable yet nebulous enough to keep a round going. A great game to play with friends around a few drinks, or for a quick match as a warm up for games night!

Mean!

2 - 8 players
10 - 20 minutes

This card game is like Uno’s bigger, meaner brother. If you want to introduce your gaming pals to a game that's a step up challenge wise, this is a perfect option! In Mean! You are trying to empty your hand, and avoid picking up the extra punishment piles which sit ever waiting on the table. You place cards numbered 12 to 1, and cards must be played either in ascending or descending order. But watch out! If someone plays a mean 6, you have to match it or pick up the punishment pile cards. With delightful options like swapping hands when you play an 8, or sweeping the board clean whenever you play 4 of a kind, Mean! Gives you plenty of avenues for playful pranks, but keeps the board even enough that you always have an answering play. This is where it builds on other card games, where you might get stuck with an unwinnable hand, often having a fistful of cards in Mean! Gives more options for greater plays.

Gloomhaven: Buttons and Bugs

Single Player
20 - 30 minutes

For the adventurer seeking a solo experience, Gloomhaven Button and Bugs is a great travel gift! Fitting an entire dungeon in your pocket has never been easier, with each level being represented by a single card, and the player taking control of one of the multiple miniature mercenaries that come within the box! With options to level your character, and AI instructions for enemies as well, Gloomhaven Button and Bugs is a streamlined experience of the bigger boxed game, that still has plenty of adventure to give.

Santa Cookie Elf Snowman

2 - 8 Players
10 - 30 minutes

The Christmas edition of the popular Taco Goat Cat Cheese Pizza, Santa Cookie Elf Snowman is a game of slapping down cards while repeating the titular mantra - if a card is drawn in order its a race to slap a hand down on the pile! The last person to touch the cards must take the entire pile, and the winner of the game is whoever empties their hand first! A simple and easy to teach game that can be played with the whole family, and a great stocking stuffer present!

Sprawlopolis

1 - 4 Players
15 - 20 minutes

Shuffling a deck of 18 cards, you and your players (or just yourself - this game can be played solo!) take turns placing down city blocks, attempting to meet 3 condition cards you lay out at the start of the round. A head scratcher that has you working cooperatively to try and gain the score equal or above the one listed on your 3 condition cards, Sprawlopolis is a tricky puzzle laid out city street by city street (or not street, as those tends to lower your score… pesky streets!). What is fun about Sprawlopolis is how far you can push your deck of relatively few cards, and the ways in which you can layer them in play - cards can be placed next to each other, or partially covering different zones of the city, all in the name of gaining points! It's always nice to have a cooperative option on the table, and Sprawlopolis shines when it comes to across table communication as you try to build the best city against all the odds!

Bridgerton Love Letter

2 - 4 Players
15 minutes

A classic redressed for the new season, Bridgerton Love Letter is an elegant new edition of the beloved classic card game, Love Letter! For the uninitiated, Love Letter has you trying to deliver letters to the princess to win her favour, using differing people within the castle to carry these letters. But each of these folks have different ranks and abilities, with priests and handmaidens, guards and princes, who can make you drop the cards in your hands, peep on them, or reset your hand completely. All you need to do is end the game holding the card of the princess herself, or be the last player standing, and the Bridgerton edition gives a delightful regency coat of paint to this great game. The perfect gift for the gossiper in your life, lover of regency drama, or simple card game fiend!

Sea Salt and Paper

2 - 4 players
30 minutes

Sea Salt and Paper, first of all, is visually delightful - all the card art is hand made and folded origami, photographed against plain colourful background that highlights the texture and folding of the origami beautifully. It's ocean themed, as the name might suggest, and is a game about drawing cards, playing combinations and sets, and gaining points until you reach 7 points. You can call a around at any point, and give players a final offer to play their last combinations to try and beat your score. This game has got a familiar push and pull that feels as comforting as the sea, reminiscent of games played with a simple playing deck but slightly more complex. If you want a game with fun symbology, and slightly elevated game play, Sea Salt and Paper might be your next favourite card game!

Scout

2 - 5 Players
15 minutes

Scout is a ladder climbing card game - meaning players are trying to match numbered cards and sets to be higher than the cards in play on the table. This fast paced card game will have you slamming cards down in an effort to empty your hand, while watching your hard planned sets become points for other players. This game has a surprising amount of strategy for a numbers game, and a delightful turn sequence that gives you plenty of options for clever plays that will have everyone at the table groaning. Scout is a well beloved and recommended game in our store and others, and so earns its place on our stocking stuffer list!

Ransom Note

3 - 6 players
30 minutes

If you’ve ever tried to make something beautiful from word magnet poetry, you are going to be in for a treat with Ransom Note. Players are given a prompt they must answer with a small pinched handful of magnetised words. The funniest answer wins the round and gains the player a point, and the first to 5 points is the winner! This is a memorable game perfect for crafting silly phrases you and your friends will mumble to each other three games deep, and name group chats after.

Colour Crazy

2 - 8 Players
5 - 15 minutes

A test trying to scramble your brain, Colour Crazy has you draw cards and place them next to the colours written on them - an orange card with the word purple written on it, for example - the first to lay out all their cards is the winner! A game of word association and quick matches, Colour Crazy has a moreish set up, making you always want just one more round to test your skills, and beat your opponents! With simple rules this game is easy to teach and play over drinks or at the festive table.
